The Human Disease

Listen up and listen well, afore we construct an earthly hell:
This unremitting obliteration of all the land will leave us choking, breathless, damned.
Industrialised deforestation that is sweeping out across our nation
Cares not for beast, cares not for trees, the invention of this, our “Human” disease.
Where once were forests and open spaces sit shopping malls and “other” places,
A process never fuelled by need. A process only fuelled by greed.
When the final tree is cut, and the door to natures clean air is shut,
All the profit that you make will be lost on the final breath you take.
But when we are all dead and gone, nature alone will carry on
And the world will at last be free. Free from you, free from me.
